Public Service Interpreting and Translation (PSTI) safeguards the right to communication in settings such as healthcare, the justice system, education and social services.
Where language and cultural barriers exist, PSIT is key to ensuring equal and inclusive access to these services.
However, despite its importance, PSIT remains under-recognised, precarious, invisible and often provided by people without adequate training.
AFIPTISP is the only association in Spain working to change this and achieve recognition for PSIT. We advocate for the provision of ethical, high-quality language services.
